I am wondering if a link like this will be followed by spiders? It has an href, and i assume thats what they take and follow, but it also has an onclick to open in a new window with a redirect. Does a spider effectively "click" ?

    <a href="http://www.site.com/" onclick="open_window('p/links_page/links.php?view.14','full');return false;">ANCHOR</a>

    Code (markup):

it will not be followed google because google only follow href and src tags tags.

it will not follow onclick part of your link

so then crawlers WILL spider that link then...right? It has an "HREF" with the destination. I just wondered if ALSO having the onclick in there will cause problems.
