I have the opportunity to buy a site wide link on a PR7 website. Most of the inner pages are PR6, and I haven't found one yet that is under PR5. He is only selling 8 sitewides, and there are only 4 OBLs from the home page right now. The website is in my exact industry, so the links will be relevant. The guy wants $300 per month. Is this a good deal? And if it is a good deal, no I won't tell you where it is.
Nope its crappy, who is the guy Just kidding. Will he show you his traffic stats? How many uniques, and visitors? or are you just looking at the SEO bennies?
It's a bit expensive, i've got a strong PR7 homepage for $40 and a PR7 sitewide with PR7/6 internals for $60 for one of my sites at the moment.
5000+ unique visitors per day (as of the end of April). Over 50,000 pages indexed in Google and a HUGE number of backlinks from quality, good PR .edu and .gov sites. He hasn't said, but I think it might hit PR8 in the next update. I'm not sure why it isn't already. I'm looking at the instant SEO benefits, but it should provide me with some good traffic, too, since I'm in the same niche. His is an informational site, mine sells a commercial service directly related to the information on the site. It is pricey, but I almost can't pass it up. @ sweetfunny: what is the niche on the $60 sitewide PR7/6 link, and how many links do you put on each page?
Are you sure he is the owner of the site you talk about. If it is true, I think $300/mon is expensive, I have tried same deal, only $40/mon, sitewide but homepage.
$300 is way too much (acceptable only if it's some really high traffic site). Otherwise ~ $100-$150 monthly is fair (depending on niche too).
No these are purchases i made for some sites recently, i don't sell any links on my decent or high PR sites. If you browse the link sales section here on DP you will find PR7's being offered up for $40-$100 per month. $300 is quite pricey, but the site may be PR8 internally and just not on the toolbar yet as you said. Last update it could of been a PR7.9 and 10 times stronger then your bottom of the barrel PR7's. There are some tricks to get an idea, check the PR of pages 1 click off the homepage and if these are PR7 or PR6 it's fairly strong. Then 2 clicks off the homepage and so on, the less the PR drop each level deep the stronger the PR. Also check the cache dates in the same manner, generally the fresher the cache dates across sub-pages the stronger it is. There's other tricks but these are a good indicator. Still i think you can get something equivalent for less, however if this $300 investment results in $600 in sales it's obviously worth it in your case.
Thanks sweetfunny. I checked the pages one level off the home page, and most are PR7. The website pages go pretty deep, but I can't find one less than PR5. My question is: will having 50,000 links from this website be any more benefit to me than just having a home page link?
Sitewide link would be more benefit than homepage link only. But personally, this deal is too expensive than usual.
