Is this link exchange worth it?

His page rank is 3. Mine is 4.
    His alexa rank i 1,000,000.
    Mine is 200,000.

As you can see. Mine is better than his but then again, mine isn't GREAT. One more link doesn't hurt. Or does it?

Should i go for this exchange?

Well, it depends on the content itself. if the guy you want to buy link for is relavant to your site, Go ahead. it doesn't hurt at all.

    That's what i think...

Yes. His content is relevant. But as you can see, he has more to gain from this transaction. But then again, both parties gain by entering this transaction, i think

Take the exchange -- you never know what the future holds, the tables may be turned in the next PR update and you'll benefit. If you like the site then link to it.

I would only do a link exchange if you can have your link in the other site's actual content, noot on some link directory page with a tile link links-47.html, that nobody ever looks at.
I like to exchange links if I will get direct traffic from the site, I never look at PR at all.

Why don't offer him 3 way link exchange. He will linkback to your site then you will put his site on your blogs or other site.

Wow. You put way to much thought into a link exchange. Which is why I just setup pure relevant links in www.receivelinks.com and let the system do all the work for me.

But to answer your question, do the exchange if his/her site looks cool and is relevant to yours (or even if not, i find those work too).

It won't hurt you, but you could find a better match for your site.

relevancy is the key to link exchanges. it doesn't matter so much about traffic, if the content is relevant then its worth it

Hogwash. I could have a website about soap and you could have one about cars. Content isn't similar.

I wish people would stop insisting it has to be "relevant" which to me is in the eyes of the beholder.

If the site is cool and relevant, GREAT, but I will still exchange with sites cool and not-relevant and not lose a wink of sleep.

just do the link. you benefit, he benefits. why are you losing sleep over the fact that he benefits more than you? a page rank 3 site is a good link, even if you have a page rank 4. don't feel too important. it's important to reach out to people and build a network.

Yeah the link is worth it if it is relevant to your website. I used to exchange links only with websites of equal PR and it did not help at all. Then I exchanged links with relevant websites and I would get visitors.

I would suggest that you try to do link exchanges with sites that are relevant to yours. Search Engines do not give much value to links from non relevant sites now. If you do a search for many sites they have links from completely non relevant sites and they are now being deleted or have lower rankings.
This stems from the fact that sites were getting any links that were offering no value to the search terms entered in search engines.

    You're right.
There is never a perfectly equal link exchange it's technically nearly impossible because there are too many parameters.
And people had better think of their own interest more than have a concern about the partner's benefit
