Over the time I have collected some good wallpapers of cars (the pics donot have a copyright mark on them). Now, is it possible that I can post these pics and also use adsense.......is this legal......coz i have seen many great sites doing so!!
I believe it's legal so long as it's free for people to download them, and that you place a disclaimer saying they aren't yours.
Just because the images are not watermarked does not mean they are not copyrighted. However I wouldn't worry about it. Just be careful though.
You can use them but mention it clearly that these images are not yours...As far as they are freely available i dont think there is any issue..
Images are copyrighted as soon as they are created. They do not need to have a © symbol or a watermark. If you are using photos without explicit permission or license from the copyright holder, what you are doing is copyright infringement. And that is explicitly against the Adsense Program Policies: Will you get caught? Maybe, maybe not. But if you choose to put Adsense ads on your site, please don't act surprised if you receive a message from Google that your account was suspended because of "significant risk to advertisers".
Douu... No need to worry. You can just do it. And if the copyright owner sues u then just remove those. I am sure all ur images are not copyrighted by a single person. good luck.
If you didnt read post above yours, better read it first. But please, don't say it's allright to do it. Of course he can do it. But he can be banned also. So saying it's ok seems quite imprudent. just because others do it, that's not the best way to work with adsense. People need to realize that adsense it's contextual advertisement. It's good for, yep that's right, content sites. And Nonny said it all.
I did read the post. But u know when i started my wallpaper site then i also asked this SAME question on DP. But u know what. Google wont ban you for image copyright. YOU should read the DMCA policy. Its very hard to sue you with multimedia materials. And if it was so dangerous then i would never juggest a fellow DP member to do it. Thank you for ur concerns tho.
If its legal? Of course, you will not go to jail I think you should do it, google will not punish you either.
If you just mention that the pictures are the "the best of car wallpapers available online" you should be fine. that clarifies you didn't take them, and makes your site look like a great 1-stop resource.
