Is this legal?

I downloaded a trial version of a commercial software.
The author stated that there are some restrictions in the trial version.
But, when I downloaded it, I didn't find any restriction.
I downloaded the software directly from the author's website.
Not from any mirror website... From the official website.
And while installing the software there was no terms and conditions too.
So, I wanted to ask if it was legal to use the software?
I don't think I am breaking any rule by using this software.
    What do you say?

I don't think it's illegal but it would be very nice if you can afford to inform the author about that matter, sometimes programmers get glitch on my making FREE Trial version on their software. Who knows he will give you a FREE updates. :D

Its not legal at all because its the authors own fault for not securing his own software.

Not a lawyer, but it sounds like shareware, but you got the full software. It is not your fault. Use it.

course, like any shareware, if you like it, pay the guy.
