Is this legal?

Is it against Adsense TOS to put someone else's Publisher ID on a site that you sold ? Instead of having them paste their entire adsense code with the channels and everything, I just swapped my publiser ID with theirs. So, there is only one adsense code on the website: THeirs, not mine.

I just want to be sure this method is legal cuz i've been a long standing adsense "customer" for many years and dont' want my account wiped out because of something I may not know about.

    Thanks.

I think thats absolutely fine, if they pasted the code themselves it would look identical but with their own id. So you have just done the work for them.

    What a splendid chap...

That is absolutely fine. Just remove their publisher ID from the HTML and replace it with the new one. This is exactly what happens in MFA sites.
