Is this implementation cool with TOS?

    Hey guys,
this morning I have slapped together a site and was wondering if the ad placement I used will be a O.K. with AdSense TOS.

There are 2 places I have placed ads:
    Index page: http://games2games.net
And games pages: ex Curveball Game

I have placed a 1px black border as well as 1 px greenish border around the icons next to the ads.

    Will this work?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated

    Regards

I'm not 100% sure of the labelling of the ads but the image is a redirect so...
    I can't tell, ask google! :D

I suggest you loose the link in the image and ad a small line between the image and the adsense ad.

If you would do this you are absolutely within TOS. As of now it's uncertain and in my oppinion you are probably not within TOS.

You label the ad "Feature Free Flash Game:" as a clear reference to the ad next to the text, I would say this is not allowed according to the Google Adsense Program Policy:

    Labeling Ads

Publishers may not label the ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements." This includes any text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.

I really think this is not ok, sorry.

But as he is labeling the picture and not the ad, maby its allowed... as said above maby you should check it out with google.

I did not lose the link in the image, just in case the user actually wanted to go to the "featured game", also I have moved the text from directly above the image and the ad, to the left of the image and also created a small line between the thumbnail and the ad.

Do you think it is fine now?

The featured Flash game text is something that could interpreted as undue attention and could be considdered in combination with the adsense as as a whole instead of seperate items.

At the moment it looks like one big ad so to speak as if the "The featured flash game" text belongs to the adsense ad.
And this assumption is something you should avoid at all costs.

I am not sure about the image link regarding if you are allowed to implement it in such manor ...but i would refrain from it personaly.

Well if there is no image link then it would be definetely against TOS. Since the image is a thumbnail / mini screenshot of the game it links to. If it was just a picture without a link it would definetely be drawing attention to the ad.

Also, what email should I contact adsense at to ask them about this, since it would suck losing, x,xxx monthly because of little thing like this.

    Thanks for all the help

Tons of fellow members are using images or have used them next to their adsense ads but putting links in the images is something that i can recall as against TOS. But absolutely sure i am not regarding the image link ...as for images without links being against TOS...that is absolutely false and not true ;)

To contact support i would log into my account and go from there to find the correct support@ address.

It's not the image that's against TOS, it's making seem as though the image is part of the ad, hence my thoughts that the vertical white stripe separating making his implementation a legal one.

ultimately, i'd just ask instead of risk it...

If the image contained a script that would click the ad, when the image is clicked that would be for sure against TOS. But just from common sense you would think you would be able to link to the page that the icon relates to.

yeah thats exactly what I thought and read all across this forum!

Thank you all for your replies I will contact AdSense to make sure this is allright

theres no need to contact adsense about *every* tiny little question. the border next to the image makes it look seperate to the ad, which is tos compliant.
