i got this pm on another forum.
i bought my domain name and sell templates because it was the only one available with those 2 keywords.
    now if i quote wikipedia
i have bolded the mostly word to stand out.so it does not say "must be" or "have to".
if i invent a .tanicos extension tomorrow and say ...this extension is only for people i choose :D will that stop you registering the domain you want with that extension? i don't think so...
    what do you think?
if tomorrow you can register let's say pizza.org would you sell pizza?or use it for non-profit?

It's not immoral. An organization can make money too.

An organization is not a charity. There are special types of organizations like "non-profit", which is a different category all together. Even those actually make a lot of money, they just claim that all of the revenue goes to maintaining their "non-profit" organization like salary, rent, etc...

    yup, i agree with you.
immoral just too "hard" in this case.

again, organization is not about a "charity".

Do whatever you want with the domain; whether it be .org .com .net .info or ccTLD (assuming what you do is within the ccTLD rules).

Yeh, I did hear somewhere that an org domain gives more respect to your business because people think its an org:)

Maybe this was true before some years now it's not
The respect is earned from the site itself and not the TLD
However you do get an admiration when people see meaningful words plus the .com TLD or short domains (assuming they do know a little bit about the industry)

Some people only like charities use .org names but anyone can use it and even "non-profit" organizations make plenty of money selling products, goods and services. Do with it what you want and it is not immoral. Good luck with your site.

    It depends,

I have owned a few .org domains that were quite profitable. Morallity is a question of oneself.

I personally do not see a problem with it, unless you are blatently lieing.
