Someone once bought the .com version of my site the guy has copied everything ive done from the start with his own site which didn't cover the same ammount of people as me i.e my name covered a full county and his covered a city within that county When i heard it mentioned i questioned him and he said he bought it for me and i could have it, he then pointed it to my site. He has now decided not to do this anymore and is going to develope it to do the same as me. Is this legal to more or less copy me again and have a site name the same apart from the .com even though this is my trading name for my business? hope that makes sense but i'm a bit mad so not clear headed thanks a lot
Is the sites design copied over? It is not illegal to have the same idea as someone else, unfortuantely. -HaloT
It's illegal to copy it word for word and the design etc. If it's the same topic and has elements from your original website, I suggest you seek legal action, but I'm not a lawyer and you shouldn't use legal advice from a forum and you should just seek the opinion of a real attorney. /End Disclaimer
You need to specify what you mean by "copy." What exactly was copied? Do you mean actual content or just the fact that your site covers widgets and his covers blue widgets?
That's like saying Google Sues XXXXX because they have a search engine. I suggest you focus on the DOMAIN not the content.
