If a proxy had alot of the features that a browser did would you use it? Ex: - Back & Forward Buttons - Simple Interface - Tabs - Popup Blocker Your answers would be greatly appreciated.
What would you consider an annoying ad? - Ads on the front page? - A small one line text ad at the top of the proxy bar? - A String Of Google Ads? --- My definition of an annoying ad starts here down... - A Flashy Banner Ad? - A Banner Ad That Makes Noise?
I have three good reasons: 1. It's a proxy site and therefore you can't always press the back button on your browser, it usually won't work. 2. 76% of people still use IE, IE is very insecure and doesn't block popups very well. 3. Most people use a proxy on multiple sites, thus they hate having to go to the same site over and over to type in 3 - 5 urls to visit them. Having everything in one place will save them a ton of time.
Well given that a HUGE souce of my income as a proxy owner is from popups on my proxified pages then I would not use your proxy script as it would defeat its own purpose. Without the ability to earn a profit then who is going to pay to host the proxy? Noone, thus no need for the script in the first place. Glype is pretty good about the back and forward buttons working in IE anyway. As for personal use. Well I just assume there is some trade off, most people do. If they want to use a proxy at work or school to get around a filter then they know there is going to be some ads and they deal with it. I am not saying your idea isn't smart, because it is, but you could alter it a little. Anything that you can add to a proxy that would make the user experience better but not detract from revenue on the proxy owner side is great.
Sure coz it make my surfing more fun. Beside that, its good if you can have implemant the proxy that save store login details so that user no need to bother to type their password again.
Any add on the proxified pages is annoying for me. If your proxy site acts as a browser I would like for it to show the pages I open as they are. I don't mind ads on the proxy page and would also do a sign up if needed. If the speed is ok and good reliability I would bookmark it definitely.
I was thinking of using 3 - 5 text links at the top, small enought to be "bearable" and yet a way to make income... What do you guys think?
anyone suggest anything good for proxified pages? adbrite is low..any good cpm..except adversal any popunder..who accept proxies?
CANEP, for instance, allows proxies, but people say it only pays off for USA traffic. In my case it their fillrate was far too low, which caused me a problem as Global Interactive popunders currently don't work in my case. Best results I get are from Smowtion, check out the signature link for the 80% link if you like.
