I just found this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/3D-GRAPHICS-GAM...ryZ68258QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem which looks a lot like the open source, ie free, Blender http://www.blender.org - is it the same thing or something different?
Certainly looks like Blender's GUI to me. He's probably bundled it with a bunch of other open source stuff too. Actually, as a matter of fact, it is Blender. He admits it in one of the videos (third video under the "Live Video Demo" section). I'm not entirely familiar with Blender's license but I have to suspect it that it doesn't allow you to resell it. Care to notify eBay and Blender?
Same here. Great software, though it's a little cumbersome to get into. And the price is right, of course. By the way, there's a great character modeling and animation tutorial at the Blender Wiki. Head to the Wiki and search for it. Should teach you the basics of character modeling and a good deal of animation too, if you need it. It's particularly helpful if you've never used Blender before since it's step by step.
I had a look at it last night, Blender I mean, and it's all a bit boggling to me - I need to sit down and give it a good few hours' attention I think to get to grips with it.
Yeah, we have this discussion at Tufat's osDate forums sometimes. osDate is a free online dating script that people sell from time to time, in fact there's almost always somebody trying to palm it off on ebay, and a few here of DP from time to time. It's not illegal in accordance with its license, just a little unethical (if you've made no mods to it whatsoever) in accordance with being a human. Anyway it's not really why I started this thread, to oust anyone; I just wanted to make sure the ebay sale was actually for the same product I can download for free, so I didn't end up being one of the suckers who pays for open source material.
