You would have noticed that Google is dominating for Search and Ads. To search you have to move towards Google and often you dont find the right information that you require.
I heard that Bing is trying to compete Google but seeming it can be.

Google has large percentage of number of users who search online, so If Google decided's to implement some algo or change he way it displays search results, we can only sit and watch, and if possible manage to be compatible with their algos.

You can say Google is dominant but not monopoly as there are still so many other advertising sites and search engines existing and sharing some percentage of internet traffic..

We will have to wait a few years untill Bing is maybe comming near Google.
Or there should come a total new something. Like how Facebook blew away MySpace (for instance)!

Google has the largest share of user which is why most of the people try to get high website rankings for Google (either by black hat or by white hat)

This is one of the major reason Google results has got spammed....

But with the latest algorithm update i.e. Panda update, Google is making sure that search results are user friendly and informative for the user.

I agree wit this. There are other search engines available, and even though we do not care about them right now, no one will
know what we will be using in ten years from now. But for now, almost all webmaster use Google to gain traffic and we still have to
adapt to each algorithm change they do.

Bing sucks, and Google is dominating for a reason - they have great workers. If google is a monopoly, then facebook is too.

Google does have a big corner in the market but there are several other competitors so it's not really a monopoly. Microsoft has been investing tons of money into Bing to try to compete over the last several years with cash back for purchases made through searches on their site, ect. I still use google because like most people I am a creature of habit but it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future.

I dont think you can say that Google got spammed, I think all engines showed crud from time to time, and do you class affiliate two page sites as spam, because if you did you would probably wipe out 90% of the people in here, well according to the great posts on how to become rich.

THis is just one of lifes great games, google refines the search to bring up better results, the IM's figure out how to get around it, because it is impossible white hat, to manage hundreds of sites efficiently and get them to the top. By the way, I only have three sites, and I am white hat. I think a lot of people will be happy with the clean up, if it keeps people more honest.

Agreed with Imran. And same is even with adsense. Many are reporting that google is now paying less as compared to past months. Some are even reporting that google is paying them 50% less as compared to last year with same traffic numbers and sources.

I have heard a lot of cases on google dicussions forum that Original content sites ranking dropped and copied content sites rankings increased. WTF? Can't google detect which one is original. And one of them was showing posting date of article indexed in google and still ranking below the copied ones (posted many days after the original).

So I think Google has a monoply.
