Is this freebie? I'd like to know....

It says in the freebie thread that:

Free stuff posted here should be free 100 % free and nothing else

Do not ask people to do something for you in return

I was offering something & I was asking something in return.
And so I posted it on what I thought was the appropriate buy/sale/trade thread.

But it was moved to the freebie thread and given red infraction for "thread started in wrong category"

And now that it is in the freebie section, another mod has given a yellow infraction for "inappropriate post or thread" in the freebie section as well.

I'm confused. Can someone clarify pls for my benefit and others as well pls?

You arent asking or giving any thing in return so it should go in Free BEE section only and not in B/S/T section at all. so this justifies your Red rep

Also Yellow Rep is a Warning issued to you and should have a post count value of 0 .

That would be an exchange which is acceptable in Freebies.

You're not charging cash so Freebies would be a more appropriate placement.

 

you are not allowed to ask people for anything if you are asking them to sign up for something, thats what i guess the yellow was for

 

This sounds like a freebie. You are offering a link if the person gives you a name , email and URL; this is a freebie. Take the infraction and try to post more appropriate next time.
