Is this ethical?

I don't really have a problem with it :p but just wondered what you think of the new no.1 bidding directory on http://www.bidforplacement.com/. PR6 Web Directory, is this misleading, e.g. if somebody doesn't have a pagerank toolbar they're more likely to click it, or just good promotion?

I wonder if it is a new submission and all the data is not updated, or they just plan on "achieving" a PR6, so that is what they called it, but what if they do not get that PR. I know I wouldn't name a site something that constantly changes. They are just promoting heavily I guess.

    They could have done better.
Instead of building up a directory and achieving PR6, they are just playing with the name.

No offensive, but its certainly misleading. Not everyone use Firefox with "Search Status" extension installed.

Quick clicks = traffic = site sale = QBC

    EDIT: It's Friday & I'm feeling cynical...

I'm just pleased I have the detail stats right there so nobody can be mislead easily. But it is 'QBC Marketing' if you fancy a new category :p

You cannot really call it unethical because it is only a name. Now if on their directory they say that they have a PR6 then it would be bad, but right now I think that is what they are trying to achieve. I wouldn't think that they were a QBC candidate, but their marketing plan is horrible and need to rethink the strategy!

The domain name is pr6directory.org. I guess it could look like misleading, but the title is accurate. The owner has been promoting a lot though ;) So I don't think it's QBC.

    Just like tagspage.com advertising a PR7 Web directory when it's clearly a PR6.

***Tagspage even displays the wrong PR bar at the top:***

    Misleading and unethical, IMHO.

I thought it was PR6, and I actually refreshed the page to see if the PR bar will update.
I guess it could be a bit misleading, but they are doing some nice promotion. Although it could be late for the coming update.

That example and the subject of this thread are two different things.

The site looks very nice to me and I made a submission based on that knowing it was PR0, they seem to be doing quite a bit of promotion so I believe they are geniunely looking to get a PR6....kinda sucks if they ever get a higher one I guess.
