Is this duplicate conent?

    Submitting an article in ezine and posting that arcticle in your blog, is this duplicate content. Would e zine not submit your article if you allrready have it posted in your blog.

    almost teh definition of duplicate content. Make it unique for one or the other.

    Yep.. Never do like that... Its ok if its once or twice.. but, if you're doing it often, Search Engines will penalize you.

    what about when you social bookmark an article to many places. Isn't that duplicate content?

    The search engines do not penalize you for the same content that is found on different sites. If they did newspapers wouldn't have syndicated columns or stories. What Google doesn't want is the same content found duplicate times on the same website in an attempt to manipulate the search engine rankings.

    Ezine will accept an article that is on your blog, squidoo lens, or website as long as both the article and your blog etc. list the same author.

    Just make sure you add a link back to the original article in your site so that Google knows which is the original source.

    It seems to work okay, if you publish on EZA first, then way later put the content on your blog.

    you WILL get penalized in extreme cases - copy a.n.other site completely, and see how long you last in the index.

    In general though, yes, of course there is no 'penalty' - why would there be? What there is though is no freakin benefit.

    This argument is so dead I don't know why I bother. if you think you can get on page 1 of google with a 'syndicated' news story from Yahoo, you go right ahead. And come back when you've managed it.
