Buy it and sell it back to them for a good price.

They can still retrieve it. I doubt they'll let it fall into your hands.

Maybe they didn't want that domain name,or they will renew it and don't let it expired. Therefore, you may not get
a good price from them even if you register it.

You are considering a risky proposition. We had a non profit organization domain that expired by accident. Someone bought it and offered it back to us for a few thousand dollars. We switched to a .org and had an attorney who was a member contact them to let them know, they had already bought the name with the intention of selling it back and that there it was now a record of their intent and any other use upon the part would result in pressure coming upon them.

I bought a 4 letter domain name fedx. When I parked it, I was contacted by FedEx. Was not worth the fight.

Finally, I have a web site of mycompanynameinc.com Someone bought mycompanyname.com and offered it to me for $300. I offered aback $150. There was no sale. I just left it go and am not pursuing it since I think I have more legal protection with the inc anyway.

Not sure if this answered your question other then be careful.

You'll risk any kind of problem for probably zero profit.
