hi everyone, I did a research fro keyword recently. I noticed a difference between keywords in quote and wihtout quote. Why the difference? Which shoyuld I concentrate on? Also, the competetion data on google given by wordtracker is way off the mark of the present data given by google. In other words, wordtracker gives me 550 for a keyword, when i search it on google, i found it to be 12,000. This makes me confused. Which keyword should I optmizxe my website for? keywords in quote or without quote? I understand when you search for keyword without quote, the search engine returns every where each of the word in keyword is found whuile the quotattion mark brings on the page with the exact keyword(s). What should i do? I am confused and feell like giving up after investing so uch time and effort. Please DP memebers, help me out!!!!!!
The difference between a keyword phrase in quotes and without quotes is the difference between a keyword match and a phrase match. That is, if you search for "utah seo" (without the quotes) then Google will return pages that match "utah" or "seo" although pages that include "utah" and "seo" will come up higher, all other things being equal. But those two keywords could be anywhere on the page, in any order, not even next to each other, and Google would still pull the page up as a match. However, if you search for "utah seo" with the quotes, then Google will only return results that include "utah seo" in that exact format. That is, if there were a line on a webpage that read "utah is a great place for seo" then that page would not come up as a result, or if it did, it wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the results. However, if there were a line that read "this is a great place for utah seo" then that line would match the search, since the words "utah" and "seo" are contained in the exact same order as the search and are therefore an exact match. If you're optimizing for a certain keyword phrase, it pays to know how people type it in. In the case of my example, I've found that more people search for "utah seo" than for "seo utah" and so whenever I include those keywords on my site, in posts, or wherever, I include them to match what is being searched for the most. Hopefully that answers your question about how to include your keywords in your content for optimal optimization. Regarding Wordtracker vs. Google, I'd trust Google first. Wordtracker is notoriously inaccurate at times. The only reason anyone uses it is because for certain data it's better than nothing. Barely.
a search with a quotes means you're looking for the exact phrase while without quotes means your looking for any of the word you just type. For example you type "good seo advice" it means the search would return a result with a site that has exactly has the word of good seo advice. While if you search it without a quote the result would return a site with any of the words that you just type in the search box.
