    I think Gambling would be considered if currency is exchanged for winning or losing only.

    You can't have Adsense ads on the same page as gambling ads.

    I recently contacted Google and received a reply clarifying a similiar issue. You should get your own reply and now rely on what I say but:

    Your forum most likely is fine. Articles or conversation about gambling is fine.

    Links like you have leading to gambling sites is a big NO NO.

    I think what he'll run into trouble with, the gambling links aside, is that the whole site is based entirely on gambling, which may be a major problem. But yes, do check with Googs for the definitive answer.
