    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Is this any good for improving backlinking?

Google has gotten rather clever following Javascript and redirects, but if this link the webmaster has provided is in exchange for a direct link from you to him, then he's probably trying to pull a fast one. In particular, take a look at his robots.txt file. If otherl.asp is disallowed then you're definitely being taken for a ride!

It's unfortunate that webmasters are that cheap when directly trading links.

    How do I do that?

    This page does not exist:

Well, at least I haven't wasted the time putting up a link back to his site!

The joke's on him though. If he was trying to fool Google he didn't try hard enough! Google should easily be able to follow that link. We got a mention on a Yahoo article once which went through a redirection script. Now Google shows that yahoo article as a backlink despite the redirection.
