why ? because a google search site:www.swiss-travel.org shows that google has a major problem with your site's code Yahoo / slurp is far more forgiving for poor code since long therefor Y shows about 50 for site:www.swiss-travel.org while G shows "Your search - site:www.swiss-travel.org - did not match any documents" and these are simple facts that G has a fatal problem with the errors you love to protect and maintain so badly!! simple search of a major keyword in your start page LAKE GENEVA REGION site:www.swiss-travel.org shows: "Your search - LAKE GENEVA REGION site:www.swiss-travel.org - did not match any documents" and the missing of any result simply means that your domain index page is fatal to G bot you may like it or not swiss quality would help you to succeed as much as other swiss businesses have succeeded in the past hundreds of years on a global level - they all have succeeded thanks to far below number of mistakes in products and services and never thanks to carelessness about bugs and errors ...!!! of course you know exactly where the errors are so my question: why do you want to protect or maintain your errors ? for me this threadnow is history - it's getting too boring to work along with or look at error pages! Merry Christmas to all
Still not answering why OTHER SIMILAR sites with SIMILAR fecking errors got listed Google. Hans, I thank you for your whatever advice, but I'll listen for some other opinions.
only equal errors ressult in equal results similar errors result in different results long time ago I already answered your question precisely - just see earlier post: "its never the number of errors that matters its the KIND of errors that can/does make a difference" SERPS and successfrul crawling of content never depends on number of errors but on exact TYPE of errors good luck
Who said anything about the number of errors? Let me put it in plain English: Site A has SIMILAR error to Site B. Site A got listed with PR5. The number of errors is immaterial. Going by your theory that same TYPE of errors will give same result, but going by what I've witnessed (Site A = indexed and ranked vs Site B = not indexed), then your point is moot. Can someone else give other possible answers? I had enough with this Hans dude who clearly can't understand simple English (and interestingly love to brouhaha about his flawed points)
"SIMILAR error" is UNEQUAL "same error" hence needless to discuss that matter any longer the time we discussed about errors would have been plenty time to remove ALL errors !!
Jackson, Exactly my point too. A quick check with google.com reveals like 150+ errors or more. And google.com doesn't even have a !doctype declaration as well. I'm trying to find out other reasons but this smart-acting Hans guy is harping on the same issue and really got on my nerves. Not to mention flaunting his frivolous English command of "similar" and "same" errors. Dear lord.
1.do you put robots.txt at you root directory ? 2.in your web site do you have similar words or describtion used to other web site with higher PR ? for example I have my articles published in a high traffic article publish site ,and then I put the same article I wrote in my web site .My site was indexd for two days and then dropped ~from reading some thread here I think google may think my web site have too similar the same content as other hight PR site and then drop my page after indexed~
Jackson, 1. I don't have robots.txt (or so I think, unless there's a default one given by the hosting that I do not notice). How important is robots.txt? My other PR4 and PR5 sites also have no robots.txt set up. 2. No, this website is very different than the rest. It's about my travel to Switzerland. My other sites are either about Malaysian vacation or about technology. Let me know if there's anything I might have missed.
robots.txt can have googlebot go directly into your server instead of getting into your page via the outside link. sometimes what I think is there are too many things we do not know about the google tec .So even if we are thinking about providing two different page with the same condition we can not ensure this is the same condition from googlebot's POV .right ? one thing we can do is to develope more outside links to the web site and make this web site the best content we can ~ Jackson
Hi guys (again!) I do think something is wrong with my site launched end October 2005, still not indexed by Google. Bcoz I've launched another site end November and it got indexed already. See below: Launched 10/2005: http://www.google.com.my/search?hl=en&q=www.swiss-travel.org&btnG=Search&meta= Launched 11/2005: http://www.google.com.my/search?hl=en&q=www.park-guides.org&btnG=Google+Search&meta= I'm really confused now.
my44 google bot confused as well you know why i know why all know why googlebot can NOT go beyond the first few lines of your page - then it most likely experiences a fatal crash and leaves your site ... where is the point ? do you expect Google to adapt googlebot to your site specific errors or do you expect google to fix your errors for YOU ??
Hello - newbie. My site is indexed and on page 2 of MSN for a keyword; I have google sitemap uploaded and working; my weblog shows googlebot crawls regularly; and my google account shows that my home page is indexed (though that is the only indexed page). Google shows no other data - no query stats, crawl stats, or page analysis stats. Additionally, there are no error stats. What I get is: Your pages in Google Data is not available at this time. Please check back later for statistics about your site. My site has only been live a few weeks now. Is this just normal, or does this sound like I have been consigned to Google hell for something I don't know? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Paul
my44 i see a lot of scripts in your source code. you might want to put your scripts in external files to make your pages more bot friendly. IMO anyway. northpointaiki you could start a new thread to get your question addressed to by other dp members. IMO since your site is new, aside from on page seo, get quality backlinks. anyways that's all i could suggest/think of right now. good luck to the 2 of you! peace!
Red Queen - yes, thought about it after - My 44, sorry for hijacking the thread away. I'll start another. Thanks, Paul
hans is being a real asshole here. why are you still here? FYI, the site that got indexed has NO HTML doctype. The site that is not indexed has a doctype. So once and for all, can you fuck off hans? You and your mumble jumble. Your words are not appreciated here. Piss off!
Wrong, got 300 hits from Googlebot. Certainly the Googlebot was not "likely to experience fatal crash and leaves my site". So fuck off will you?
1. thanks for displaying such fine manners in public. 2. a hit by a bot in no way means success of that bot 3. it's you to have the problem with your site enjoy i surely will stop wasting my time for you
