My site http://imgtags.com/ An Image upload, gets a lot of visitor from IE users, so am altering the top to add in a FireFox referrals unit. I have seen many sites, that have stuff like "Best viewed in Firefox" or "Do you use IE, then try Firefox" These text are right next to the referral ad. I think of it as subtle way of asking the user to click the ad to be honest. But I wanted to know what you think. Here what it will look like
hopefully it is Because I have to wait some days for a response. I can just post it here and get a response and some members good or bad experiences in a day. And every time I email adsense I get a response 4-7 days later >_>
alright thanks for the information I'll add it in. The next question would be this I heard you can modify adsense code or do anything with it. What about make a php code that check if visitors are using firefox. And if they are the ad wont appear.
"I heard you can modify adsense code" You have heard wrong, you cannot modify adsense code. About that PHP code to check visitors who are using FF, I suggest its better to contact adsense support and ask them. You are actually not modifying adsense code for this, but its safe to first contact adsense support.
Well, the people HERE aren't the ones that will ban you. Google will if they don't like what you do so I usually go right to the horse's mouth and 4-7 days ain't gonna kill me. Besides, the most I've ever waited is about 2 days.
Please read the TOS. Questions about modifying the AdSense code and such are already explained in the TOS.
It's allowed. You could also show it only to Internet Explorer visitors, for example using this code: <!--[if IE]> Your firefox adsense referral code <![endif]--> <!--[if !IE]> Other referal code for visitors using firefox/opera and other non IE browsers <![endif]--> Code (markup):
It's a Referral Ad so it's not a violation of Adsense TOS. You can promote it explicitly and even tell your visitors to click on the ad and visit the site.
Technically it is not allowed I think because you are asking the user in a sense to click on the ad. If you ever ask the user to click on ads, you are violating the terms and conditions.
Too funny look at googles own samples for referral ads source: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=45461&topic=11724
You can ask user to click on google referral ads because you won't get money from clicks but by conversions.
