Is this allowed?..

    Hi,

I have a new website that allows users to download free xhtml/css templates that I've made myself.

My question is: Am I allowed to place my AdSense ads on those free templates that my users can download?

They are free to use the templates with encrypted footer wich contains the ads.

    Regards, Jelle

    Thx in advance.

Stop and think about this, what sort of liability do you set yourself up for? What risk do you put your Adsense account at if someone with a template decides to put out a site that is in violation of Adsense TOS/Policies?

    Ok I agree...

Do you guys have any other ideas of how I can still make money from the free templates? I would be happy to know.

You may not place ads on any sites that you do not own (with the exception of ad-revenue sharing websites, I believe.)

If you really want to make money without selling them... You could set up ad systems such as a high-paying popunder running when the user clicks a download / goes to a download page... and/or one of those redirecting advert pages (cant think what they're called... a full page ad with a countdown & "Skip to content" button at the top right..)..

You could even implement ads on the template preview sites, if you run them in that way..

Hope my advice helps you :)

I would think that you could display the ads on the template display page then let your users download the template minus the adsense publisher code.

Good Luck and play nice with google they can make you rich.
