getting a 1.5 percent CTR on ads with an average position of 7. I assume a higher position = higher CTR? so is that good for that position? bidding 20 cents a click...
It seems a little low. I would try experimenting with different ad variations to try and get it to 4-5%.
k. i'll start expirimenting. any good pointers? I know shoemoney is a big fan of making "arrow" shapes with his ahdwords ads...
Hi, I would say that CTR is a little low as well. I suggest aiming for 5% - therefore, i would create 2 or 3 ads and split test. You will see some interesting results, keep the one with the best CTR.
1.5% CTR for a position 7 ad is pretty good... it must be a very relevant keyword. Higher positions should give you a great CTR on that keyword.
In my experience, 1.5% isn't awful - from 7th position, you should be looking for about 2% - 2.5%, but it depends on how good everyone else's adverts are...
today i had 2,905 impressions. CTR of 1.56 percent I have a number of ad variations. the best oerforming had 688 impressions and CTR of 1.88 percent Lowest had 512 impressions with .97 percent. I stopped the lowest performing one mid day b/c it was the third day in a row of poor performance...
what the others mentioned are some good points.. the CTR depends entirely on what keywords you are targeting .. in some cases 1.5% might be, others not so much. give us some specifics if you wish and we can answer further.
1.5% with an average position of 7 does sound quite good. I also just started with adwords and I have 2.67% with an average position of 3.1 Costing me a lot though ... average CPC of 0.62€, max daily set at 20€ ... or 600€+ each month I do have a lot of sales these days but because many customers order by phone or e-mail my cost/conversion ratio has no meaning. I would love to hear your thoughts.
That's pretty good for the seventh spot. You can keep tweaking your ads to find the ones that work best.
