Anybody see red flags about these ad placements? I'm using this on a proxy, which is, in itself, a red flag. The yellow arrow points to the link unit I'm most worried about. Praise to the almighty Google!
I don't think that violates the TOS. Why would it? If you're still worried though, just email Google.
The who new "accidental click" policy. From what I have seen its still a suggestion as it is not in the TOS
The adsense team just made a post in their blog about placing ad-units too close to things like buttons, which may result in accidental clicks on the ads. Those link-units are very close to your URL form, but since they are link-units and not ads, you are probably safe.. Dont take our word for it though, either move it further away or send an email to Adsense Support and see what they say (they will probably just tell you to read the Policies and TOS)
The new adsense blogpost , states "Generally, we ask that you not place your ads near features of your site that your users may interact with by clicking." I wasn't worried until I read that. Maybe the ads are too close to the url form and click for more options link?
"Generally" and the fact its not in the TOS = me ignoring it for now and just using good common sense.
But those aren't "ads" - those are link units. If it were ME, i would play it safe, but link units do work different than ads..
If you want to play it safe, just move it below the "Click here for more options" or you can take it out. I've been using this template for a while (I made it ) and I've always had that link unit below the input bar, no troubles whatever with the AdSense team yet.
