right, but the other few rows look exactly like them. just meaning that he did a good job of blending the ads on the page
I think that page comes close to violating TOS. "No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages. This includes error, login, registration, "thank you" or welcome pages" I think a coming soon page VERY closely resembles that description.
Yeah, great job! Adsense has functionality for working with different colour palletes for this exact purpose .......... Blending the ads with your content. I don't think he is violating the TOS as he has marked his own listings as well to show that they are not Adsense ads. Fretburners on the other hand is violating the TOS due to lack of content (IMO) ...... And that page could also be classified as a "Welcome Page" by Adsense.
I am extremely surprised. How can a page with virtually no content and meta keywords on guitar, guitars shows 8 ads from Adsense. My site has a full page of content and PSA is still showing occasionally...
It looks good.. matching the site, however, I read a report recently that said users hate being duped into adverts.. I know it bothers me on search engines (Ask jeeves anyone?). This is why MSN and G both try to make their ads obvious. (Shawn does the same at the top of this forum). If the adverts stood out you would probably get a lower ctr but improved user experience, in the long term this should improve your visitor retention and return rates. inturn increasing your visitors. It might be wise to seperate them especially if your content + tools are good. Newpaper adverts, TV and most media all distinguish between ads and 'content'. I think whilst a nice idea, in the long term you will actually see a lower return.
it's a coming soon... just a placeholder. i wasn't expecting to be # 5 on MSN for "guitars". i better get busy!
Why don't you guys just PM Bling about it. He is a member of this forum. That Think Bling actually has good software that I use.
it was quite funny actually. i took a blank html file, typed in "guitars" ... made it an H1 and then linked it to itself. the title was guitars keywords = guitars desc = guitars i then linked to it from 2 sites i have the do very very well on MSN ... 2 weeks later ... it's #6. i logged into awstats for some reason (not sure why) and noticed i was getting traffic. 100% of the traffic was from msn and 100% of the keyphrase was "guitars" it's still extremely odd to me that it's still up there. msn needs work IMO.
It's the guitar coming soon page (not bling's page) that is curious on how high it ranks. I'll check out some of his software - references are good, thanks
I guess there is only one way to find out whether or not this is violating G's TOS... Email to G and ask...
