Hi, I'm currently ranking on page 2 for Electronics. I'm sure I'll be on page 1 within the next few weeks. I've checked the Google Keyword Tool and it says that it averages at 37,200,000 searches per month. I was just wondering, does that seem accurate? Because it seems like a huge number, which would result in massive traffic if I got to page 1. I don't know any other free keyword tools so I can't check any others. Thanks.
That probably includes all searches that use the word electronics "home electronics" "cheap electronics" etc. Try searching for exact results using quotes and try checking your results for more specific keywords that might make people want to buy something. Wordtracker also has a free keyword tool.
Thanks for the help. It's weird how Electronics shows 11,100,000 with quotes around it on the Google Tool and then only 6,000 on Wordtracker. Shows that something is very inaccurate.
Keyword research is confusing but it fun. Electronics is too wide - very untargeted, try to focus on long tail keywords 3 or 4 words would be very focus, focus with the term for example buy home electronics or buy cheap electronics etc.. these kw will bring profit. btw free tools is always confusing, some time not accurate and time consuming, if you serious want to make money - you must use the best tools for your online business..
Wordtracker seriously underestimates keyword volume as their data sample size is simply too small. Google AdWord keyword tool has the opposite problem. They stats are overinflated because they include data from their entire search network. The Google keyword tool is still the best free tool, but don't expect to get 100% of the traffic they quote, even if you are ranked #1. For better keyword search volume statistics, try Keyword Country or Keyword Discovery.
