Is this a severe host flaw with a major hosting company?

I am currently in the process of re-designing a website and then will be hosting it on my server.

So I have set the website up on my WHM hosting cpanel etc but NOT changed any DNS settings with the current host etc, until the website is ready on my server etc.

The current website is of course still accessable on the previous hosting server (as it will be until any DNS changes).

Anyhow this morning I tried to send an email to the owner and it came right back....strange I thought, so I went and added the email addresses in the cpanel account for the new website on my server and then sent an email, low and behold it didn't come back I checked the email account and there was my message......! How can this be?

This means that anyone hosted with this company could have their accounts sabotaged and held to ransom OR am I completly missing something here???

name of hosting company not given for obvious reasons

    Ian

Try it again from a different mail account on a different server. What you desribe should not have happened.

Colbyt, you hit the mail on the head, my host replied saying the same so guess the server looks no further if the domain is on that server even if DNS settings are not for that server.....

...You learn something new every day.

    Thanks Ian
