If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, smells like a duck... What do YOU think it is? When you get those strange butterflies in your stomach and you are asking questions like this; doesn't that tell you something?

Your intuitions are probably dead on. It looks like a scam, sounds like a scam and smells like a scam... Do you think that maybe it might be a SCAM? Greed is the one emotion that tells us to forget our gut feelings.

I would do what bpasc95 suggested to the letter and then some. It is a lot of money and it is tempting to roll with it, but I would follow every precaution known to man on this one. Yes I would!

Their email is on gmail, what more can you expect? And if that's their site, it's hosted on a free web platform!

Finally, either accept bank wire, western union or perhaps in some cases PayPal (with product tracking ID, but this is still risky).

Don't send out the goods, you'll save yourself a lot of money and nerves. All he wants to do with the point of you emailing them is to either make himself somehow look legit, or to scam your email password (phishing?).

    It sounds like a scam.

Should play around with these guys though - take them up on the offer, tell them to meet you at a public location. Don't bother showing up. Then when the guy contacts you again - arrange to meet him and either stand the 'freighter' up again or you could meet them and get them to show you some sort of id (which you could take a picture of or photocopy). Then publicize the scammer all over the web.

Everything about it smells funny to me.

What is the "product" if you don't mind me asking?

This raises too many red flags. I guess there is a small chance that this is legit, but it just isn't worth the risk IMO.
