My site has 43 pages and they were all indexed by google up until about a week ago and now only 12 of the show up using this in the google search bar: site:http://mysiteinformation.com/* Also, I was getting a fair amount of traffic from google but now nothing at all to any pages. I had set up a linkwheel and one of the 2.0 properties was a blogspot page and I received this message from google. "Hello, Your blog at: http://XXXXXXXXX.blogspot.com/ has been identified as a potential spam blog. To correct this, please request a review by filling out the form at http://www.blogger.com/unlock-blog.g?lockedBlogID=6930518708445284340 Your blog will be deleted in 20 days if it isn't reviewed, and your readers will see a warning page during this time. After we receive your request, we'll review your blog and unlock it within two business days. Once we have reviewed and determined your blog is not spam, the blog will be unlocked and the message in your Blogger dashboard will no longer be displayed. If this blog doesn't belong to you, you don't have to do anything, and any other blogs you may have won't be affected. We find spam by using an automated classifier. Automatic spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and occasionally a blog like yours is flagged incorrectly. We sincerely apologize for this error. By using this kind of system, however, we can dedicate more storage, bandwidth, and engineering resources to bloggers like you instead of to spammers. For more information, please see Blogger Help: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=42577 Thank you for your understanding and for your help with our spam-fighting efforts." I removed all but just a couple of links almost immediately and thought that everything would be fine but now when you type in some of the words/phrases that I was doing real well with I don't show up until the 12the page. I was on the first page for several keyword phrases before the incident so I am pretty sure this is what triggered the mess. Any thoughts you may have to get me back on the right track would be greatly appreciated.
so basically theyre right, and it was a spam blog? no its not "the sandbox", sounds like its been marked as spam and dealt with accordingly
A linkwheel is a series of web 2.0 properties all tied together by links to one another. While some people use the same content for each blog, I don't. I use unique content, have the blogs all point to my site and then each blog points to another blog.
If ur sure thats caused it, which im not sure as i dont really understand what ur wrote that clearly, is ur blog hosted on ur domain ? If your sure its teh spam thats caused this, which would be a reasonable explanation as having lots of spam links can cause ur site to drop or disapear, resolve the issue and it should resolve itself its got nothing to do with a sandbox, thats how google works, have lots of crappy links on ur site and expect to be no where near the top of the search engines, as this shows poor quality content ! Woc
My site is a hosted domain and is about 5 1/2 months old and is a PR2 and was doing real nice for a bit. I may have just added too many links in too short a time... I've never had a site do that before and I have owned about 50 sites that I built and developed.
so a link network. it wont matter to Google whether they have individual content or not, its a link network designed to manipulate rankings, and its been busted by the sounds of it.
yes the vast majority of these types of reports are just Google glitches anyway. its always easy to assume that something that happened recently is the cause, but often it's not and will just return if left alone. thats why when this happens best advice is sit tight and do nothing, and just observe, you can do more harm than good trying to "fix" it when it wasnt broken anyway
I believe you are correct... it just threw me for a loop for a bit. It's creeping up a bit more today. Thanks for your thoughts.
