Is this a redirect?

    Hey guys,

Quick question, that would really help me out. I'm a bit lost when it comes to redirects.

Im basically wondering how for example digitalpoint has "forums." before digitalpoint in its url. A few of my competitor sites have this and I was wondering if anybody could explain, what its, and then how you set it up?

Im only using forums as an example here btw:)

    Many thanks in advance.

It is not a redirect, it is called a subdomain.
So one can setup a subdomain called shop and give url as shop.yourdomain.com and then forum would be on forum.yourdomain.com, and blog to show up on blog.yourdomain.com.

    Does that ans your question?

thats brilliant guys, thanks for the replys.

Just now looking into whether subdomains are the way to go, SEO wise.

There seems to be a split decision on any forums, articles ive just viewed.
