Ahhh. but then it's just a single link, isnt it? If I have 5 links to the secondary site, and give a one way link to the primary, I'll have 1 link instead of 5 on the primary.
I think I agree with lycos. The most affective thing to do is exchange links with other sites from your experimental site, and then you can simply link to your main site from the experimental site. The reason being because, you will still ultimately be getting the same link power back to your main site, and in addition you won't be risking losing out on links from Web sites which do not want a reciprocal link to be given from a different site than the main site your are wanting them to link to. (The majority of sites out there will probably not approve of such a 3 way link.) As a directory owner I find it irratating when I receive reciprocal link submissions towards domain A but then I find that they have linked to me from domain B. How am I supposed to know that this was an original link? Maybe I already had a link from domain B, and they are just pretending that they are giving me a new link from domain B? You see the problem...
This is 3 way linking, just make sure you tell the recipient of the link trade exactly what you are doing. I'm sure they will want to know were their link sits.
I don't understand why you would want to do that. Share link love and it will return. I don't usually do link exchanges anyway.
I understand. I think I'll just go with the advice lycos gave. I appreciate everyone's opinions and advice, and I'm glad I asked before I did anything. When you are new at this type of stuff it can be easy to screw up. I think this is a simple ethics question, and lycos gave me the most ethical and beneficial answer. Thanks again, everyone.
