I saw amray hs 2 types of listing, 1 is basic and 1 is premium.

I tried adding an url and there was 2 option to list a site shows as "add url" & "add premium url".

My original point was, that if his directory was PR 0, then nobody would pay for premium listings. Then he goes on a rant about how is directory is FREE and that he makes no money off of it. That is why I pointed out that he does charge money for some listings.

There is no doubt about its page rank 8. Its valid PR 8.

Ive noticed that a lot of sites that tend to be able to hold onto PR8's and 9's tend to be the sorts of sites that are clearly not advertising anything, usually those well established sorts too.

So i agree with you that it wont last long on a directory.

The method is he hacked the site and instead of posting something stupid like 'this site was hacked by D00d G0d' he used it to his advantage or he knows the webmaster for that site and slipped him a few hundred bucks or he is the webmaster.

It's just pure greed and stupidity to think they can just set up a PR8 directory and noone will question it..idiots

 

With all the free publicity that directory has recently got here its bound to have a negative effect on it soon.

Ironic isn't it, that pr of that amount becomes something you dont actually want many people to see

Dont worry fastreplies, and dont anyone go reporting it, just leave google to do their own job, they employ enough people, its maybe even a setup, lol, to keep directories owners confused and bickering and all that.

 

It was a nice tricky (black hat) but their mistake was to setup a directory, paid links, and few backlinks to help to hide such powerful PR9 backlink.

There are some tactics to reduce exposure and still get a nice link juice to a directory (paid).

The competition will be watching what are You doing and will try to follow your steps, once they realize they can't and find such tactic expect your website, specially if You are selling links in the directory model, be reported to GG, Y! and Bing. And also, the owner of that high PR website probably will take your link down.

Expect that PR8 to fall in a few days, or weeks, (in the green bar 'cause in GG database (real PR) will be in few hours).

Nice try, nice backlink but that directory was certainly run by amateurs in the online marketing.

I found their backlinks in two minutes. So, i pulled off any listing there for my clients. I knew it couldn't last long.

They just lost a potential source of income of, maybe, 25K and up, MONTHLY!!!

Very lucky to get such a big boast, i know he has those high pr back links but what if this guy works for google and gave himself a nice head start. Any way i don't really care becasue its none of my business, all i can say is well done you made a good looking directory and naughty naughty IF he/she hacked that site where he/she has the big back-link.
