Is this a legitimate plan?

I'm planning on making a website for people looking forward to becoming apprentices.

Apprenticeship is a system where you learn by doing. You get paid to learn in a specific profession, and your wages increase as you become more skilled. You normally eventually branch off and become employed officially as a person of the profession you trained in.

In Canada, these are some stats for Apprentices.

I don't know the stats for this year, but I'm assuming it's around the same or increased.

My website will allow people to list their apprenticeship program, and become a place for people seeking to become an apprentice.

    I have a few questions:
    1. Is 50,000+ people a year large enough for me to take a portion onto my website, or is the audience too small?
    2. I can't find any REAL website like this. Am I really unique, or is my chance of becoming successful quite slim?
