So I want to make my blog one to where users can signup and then post their own posts and include an ad in their post (to give them some incentive to post things). I was just wondering if you guys thought this would be a good idea?

    1. Why would users sign up to post on your blog? Do you have hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands visitors?
    2. Why would anyone bother to sign up to post something AND "get an ad"... how will that benefit the poster? Will the poster get the payouts for anyone clicking on the ads in their post?
    3. I don't understand the concept - and besides, unless you have some way to vet the users signing up, you're in for a plethora of random, non-conforming posts - think porn, illegal content, being taken over by hackers, you name it.
Sorry, I really don't understand how this is a good idea, at all.

Why not just create a classified ad site instead? They can be very simple to set up. You can allow people to post a certain amount for free, and possibly get them to pay for enhanced/larger ads. Maybe they could be rewarded with more ad space after sharing your link. Or something.

I'm guessing you've heard that forums like this one, once upon a time, did a thing called revenue sharing where we were able to put in our AdSense publisher id and it would be used x% of the time on threads we started.

If you go ahead with your idea you'll need to have a limited number of platforms you support so that the ads are a decent quality rather than letting people paste in any ad code that could be for anything.

Ultimately you are in a tricky position. Without traffic why would anyone want to add content to your site for you? Without content how will you get traffic. So you need to be able to demonstrate that you have a huge marketing budget to promote your site - think hubpages, blogspot kind of exposure because that is what you are up against UNLESS you focus on a really specific niche but that's another story.

Listen to @PoPSiCLe - your moderation team will need to be top notch because you will get spammed, and not just the pornographers - you'll get all the people with outdated ideas about link building wanting to drop links to shitty estores, training centres and IVF clinics.

Consider too, where you have your hosting. As the publisher you may be liable for objectionable material posted to your site so talk to a lawyer before you go any further.

I see this idea being a major security risk with people that have a computer and a malicious intent can destroy your site. Proceed with extreme caution!
