errr....I don't knwo why but I can't seem to find the edit button......anywho, what u think of this new card,much much much more simple.
Its absolutely horrible and you need to completely redesign it. 1. Gradients like that band when printed on 99% of printers, so unless you're going to go all out on your gloss and printing expenses get rid of the gradient. 2. Beveled text, gah no. 3. Did you make that logo (the two characters running) because if you didn't thats a bad sign and may bite you in the ass. 4. Too many colors for anything short of a circus. Develop a color scheme and stick to it. 5. Text layout has no flow, goes upside down, flips around, makes a house shape. 6. None of the text makes any sense. I would sugest just simplifying it. Take 2Doujin, place it in the center in a non-beveled non-word art text (try to do something comicy with it, go grab some manga and look at title designs on them and then just rip off the style of one of them), place your two little characters (provided they arent ripped off of some one else) above the text, have the URL in small letters under the text, and then print it in matte. White space can be a truely effective framing tool, don't think that just because you have space you have to fill it. edit: new one is better, though I dislike the black. Still 1. No gradients 2. Needs a logo and url 3. Is that just a stock font? You really dont want to be identified by some one elses font.
As said in previous posts, simplicity is key. The card can be flashy and colourful, as long as it is somewhat subdued. You don't want the design to overwhelm the information.
Don't want to put you down, but... the sole purpose a business card is to get people to call you/visit your website/order something from you... Your card is way too much cluttered by all the text, colors. It looks unprofessional and will not help you. Everytime I design something I try to make sure I follow these guidelines: 1)Simplicity 2) Clarity 3)Repetition and I use Contrast and Alignment to make it look good. Keep it simple, no more than 2 colors and 2 type fonts, make your URL highly visible if you want people to visit your website (or your phone n° if you want them to call you)... Hope that helps. Damien
