Is This A Fake PayPal Email?

So at the beginning of September, I was limited, my PayPal account. I've been resolving the steps one by one, while emailing customer support about issues. One issues being I can't "Provide Business Info" if I never said I was a business...

Anyway, I've also been getting fake paypal emails, you know, asking for soc sec #'s and such. They're from an "Unknown" sender who is from "service@paypal.com".

Anyway, today I got an email from PayPal. (Not uncommon, I'm basically having chit chats with them every day). This too was from an "unknown" sender from "service@paypal.com". Though, it looks REAL legit.

I don't want to share it here, as it is somewhat personal, but it looks legit. Basically says my account is closed, funds held for 180 days, and I'll be emailed how to get them in 180 days.

This, understandably, is pissing me off.

What do you guys think? You ever get legit emails from paypal under "unknown" senders?

I think i am right in saying a genuine email from PayPal will have your name on it as a fake email would not have that information available to them.

Listen, I don't even want to read your post.
If you receive any email from paypal, delete it and go to your paypal account through Paypal and see if there is a problem...Same for ebay, your bank, you whatever money stuff, etc....

I never read any PayPal emails. Why? Well if they email you then there would also be a message on your account (either a notice to you or something else). That's why I always login just to make sure. :)

No, thats not true. I've also gotten fake emails from paypal with my dull name on it, but it was so unprofessional and sloppy, I knew it was fake.

To everyone saying check my account -
My account had been limited for 2 weeks now, so I'm always greeted with this "How to unlimit your account" page. It's still like that, and I'm not sure if they'd change it if this was a real email... Or would they?

Help more please n' thank you.

I guess EVEN with limited account, you can still check notifications and so

But you just can't send/receive money

As real as this looks, and the lack of phishing links or any links whatsoever, I believe it's fake...

It has the same headers as a confirmed fake email I received and theres no notifications in my paypal account.

    Weird...

I'll end up calling them anyway, to fix my limited account.

Honestly, have you even bothered to try to log into your PayPal account and read any messages you may have there? PayPal sends a lot of mail, and many scammers send mail claiming to be PayPal, so it is easy to see why you would be concerned, but just go straight to the source and don't bother wasting our time. Use your head, it is there for more than a hat rack.
