Hello fellow marketers After gathering knowledge for the past 2 years I finally had time to get my first squeeze page online. I haven't worked much on it so tips are always welcome. I only submitted it to about 100 directories so the traffic is low as it's only listed at 30 directories already. Tips to gather more targeted traffic are always welcome. Here is the url: Slim Fast Weight Loss
Looks fine. But I would capitalize the first letter in each word in your title "slim fast weight loss" so its like this :"Slim Fast Weight Loss"
Thanks for the tip,I have changed the title. Can you give me some design tips, what stuff can be done better? About SEO,I'm building links by submitting articles and submitting to directories. Is it better to build links for several keywords or only use for example "slim fast weight loss"? I also changed the keyphrase in the topic link and I'm pinging 100 search engines.
I use that same template on two of my sites. Here is what I did: 1) Add a contact page 2) Add a sitemap 3) Add an RSS Feed 4) Make the text color more black (I use #000) 5) Make the red header more red (so it stands out more). 5) Make the "Fast Weight Loss Club" a link. For you: 1) Take out all the links on the bottom, that is keyword stuffing, and Google will B-Slap you. 2) Take out the woman in the middle, she takes up WAY too much room. 3) Add another "Click Here" button higher up. Also, I completely redid the template Glen sent out. Make it XHTML valid, CSS Valid, and make some design changes. Should I upload for ya'll to use, or am I just some crazy loser?
Well it's not a squeeze page, it's a landing page. A Squeeze page will require the reader to enter their name and email address to move on to the sales page. The name and email will then be stored by your server or auto responder for use in your later campaigns. Other than that it looks pretty good. I do think you should shorten your copy up though. The customer is already going to have to scroll through the "way too long" sales page you're directing them to, so make it short and sweet on your page. Oh one last thing, I really hate pages that talk to me or make sound. I'm usually listening to music on my computer while I'm working and I find the website audio to be extremely annoying. Or sometimes I'll be working in the dark in total silence at like 12am and all of the sudden the computer starts talking to me and scares the crap out of me! I'm not trying to rain on your parade here, so I hope it doesn't seem like I am. I'm just trying to share all of my thoughts with you. Good luck on your success!
I think you should ask for the edited website template from BlogSalesman. And, like what longblog said, that is a salespage. Not a Squeeze page. Maybe you should place the bullet points in the middle of your salespage, putting it before the money back guarantee would be good.
You need to examine the purpose of a landing page if you are an affiliate rather than a vendor that owns a product. 1. As an affiliate you usually need a landing page if you are driving traffic through PPC and need a unique domain to display in the text ad. If you use this strategy, you need a much simpler page(think of it like a banner ad) so the user will get to the sales page ASAP. Here's a good example of simple affiliate landing page for PPC (www.prepaidcreditscard.org). Note, you need the the additional content pages if you don't want to get "slapped" by Google. 2. If you aren't using #1 above then you really don't need to add an additional step to your sales process. (You will loose approx 50% of your traffic by sending user to this page first) Just send them directly to the vendors website with your hop link. 3. If you are hell bent on using a landing page you should indeed convert it to a squeeze page and require the user to give up an email address before sending them to the sales page. This will allow you to follow up with them and resale the original product or even other products. This the biggest mistake made by most affiliates. They pay for traffic and send it to the vendor who does usually captures an email address with a free offer of some type. The email address is free to the vendor since YOU paid for the traffic. I hope this helps...good luck.
Thanks for all the nice tips. I really learned a lot from this. I have updated my page and it looks a bit better now.
