Is this a bad publisher?

Basically I found out the product I promote has a member type area, in which once referred and paid for, the person has options to buy other things. If a person buys something after being referred, as an affiliate you get no additional money.. as in they get it all after that first initial split. Is this wrong for the publisher?

Well.. I figured id call him out on it and see if he wants to lose my business.. seeing as I make him hundreds.. or send me some sort of compensation and still get my sales.. if he says no this guy has no sense of business... hmmm.. 100 dollars for being shady.. or losing hundreds in a matter of 2 weeks.. hmm

This was done on some fitness product, sean naelawanjy's product I think, he's trying to sell other things after the customer makes a purchase. I read in the affiliate resources for the product, that you get the commission for the extra products bought.

If we're talking about the same product, the publishe claims that you will commission for future purchases by your reffered buyer

I don't like that, its easy enough to add multiple products on the back end and keep your cookie. However if you were never counting on them anyways whats the loss? Guess its up to you.

He emailed me back basically saying that the reason for the back sales is to recoup for losses for up keeping his services.. which obviously is a load because hes making money from affiliate sales.. and he also said affiliates get it back in the form of a bonus, which is also bs because its nearly impossible to achieve unless you can get at least 16 sales a day. So.. how should I go about basically telling him that unless he compensates me for the backend sales im moving on.

They really ought to pay you for any other upsells. You've done the hard work and brought them to the site...

Back Sales are part of the business.

I'm guessing everyone you promote, in one way or another, is making backend sales. You probably don't know about it. I think it's safe to say that everyone will build a list (at least on the backend) and sell to them again.

Actually, that's how a lot of things work. Some people do JV's that give affiliates 100-120% commission and make their money through the backend.

I've got a question, related that you guys might help me out with. I'm going to be publishing an ebook soon, and am thinking of having a backend product (that the customer can buy straight after they purchase my initial book)

There is probably a simple answer, but ...
What do I need to do to ensure the affiliate gets a payout of the backend product too? Do I need to set up a seperate clickbank account, set up a special link or something else?

I don't really want to promote the second product as a stand-alone product (because there is plenty of competition already for it) but I think it is a complimentary product, and may sell well as a back-end product.

Rattlesnack, I believe the way it works is that you can create many different products to sell under one publisher.

I don't recall exactly the url, but when you click the order button, you're clicking on the link 1.publisher.clickbank.net

    1 - is the product.

In the backend you can offer them 2.publisher.clickbank.net, which will sell the backend product and your affiliates will get a commission for that.

Ahh ok cool, thanks. I figured it was something like that, but I wasn't sure if the affiliates would get credit for the second product.
