I wanted to learn all there is to know about SEO but I don't know where to start. I do read the odd ebook but I want an in depth course. Those SEO companies hire SEO experts.They must have got their training from somewhere. Does anyone know where they got their training from? I would just like to use it for personal use. Thanks
seo is constantly changing. Most people educate themselves through other people blogs (matt cutts for example) and then just figure things out through trial and error

Using Google to find different websites on how to learn SEO would be ideal to start - for example "SEO for beginners" or "Learning SEO" - I think you get the drift 7digital. I would also suggest learning from a real life person is better grounding then you can build up from there. I'm sure TAFEs and Colleges do SEO courses, just find your local college. Good luck -A
Hey 7digital, As far as I know, there is no course as such that would educate you on SEO. In fact its a very dynamic field with lots of changes that happens every day. In fact I am also relatively new to the trade and would recommend "Insider SEO & PPC" a book by Andreas Ramos & Stephanie Cota. I found it really helpful and informative with lots of case studies.... There are no SEO institutions and courses offered. But there are several websites that offer seo certification and e-books. Those kind of services would greatly help you in your seo journey.
You don't need to pay $$ to learn SEO, over time you'll pick up alot of things. Most SEO techniques can be learnt for free with time, DigitalPoint and Google Search IMHO. However, time to time there are some really good eBooks released and you might want to purchase them , to have a read
I believe all the big firms in this industry provide some sort of course or training. I have heard that search engine college is good but you can always look around. Even if you do a course, the learning would not stop there. You will have to keep at it as search marketing is a very dynamic field and changes quite frequently.
Read SEO blogs and webmaster forums, and you'll learn plenty of tips there. Most SEO techniques are trial and error.
Many colleges and private schools offer seo courses, for example full sail university offers a degree in internet marketing that covers SEO. Other schools focus on just SEO like searchengineacademy. Just do a search on Google and you will find lots of them.
You can learn online, get more information on seobook.com and read daily forums and seo related blogs.

Seo techniques change all the time. You will just have to keep reading on the new seo rules on different search engines. As what could make you rank high in one search engine is not necessarily the same that could make you rank high in other search engines.
Dear friend, there is nothing such thing like SEO course or SEO institute or SEO Certification which can help u in getting good job or good projects.... The thing which does matter and important is your work....your experience...your results.... So don't waste your time and money in such things...use that time in reading, research, analysis and in Reading & contributing in DP regularly and i am sure that is the only way which can give u benefits.....
There are no institution teaching this course yet, but I am sure there will be courses teaching SEO being offered one day. But why bother learning it in college and pay money when you can get these knowledge for free?
few days back i too asked the same question and was looking for some kind of seo certification course but unfortunately there isn't any seo course. if u want to learn it read sitepronews and matt cutts blog.....after reading these two things when u will compare ur knowledge with the one provided by so called seo colleges u will be happy to know that u took the right decision of learning seo urself.
