Is there still room for a CPA networks?

Hello everyone after talking to a few of my webmaster buddies I considered starting an affiliate network. The network I would create would specialize in CPA campaigns. My question is however is there still room out there for CPA networks.. I don't necessarily need huge clients but I would market to small business owners and smaller webmaster sites..

I would be able to support the network a great deal as I am online 24/7 it seems anyway :D

Costs would be very high as the software alone seems to run anywhere from $1500 - $4500

I thought this would be the best place whether it was a good idea or not to ask as DP is a webmaster forum haha

Please tell me your thoughts & Feedback

I say there is plenty of room for new CPA networks, but please no more using directtrack or whatever. Custom solutions is definitely the way to go, with details stats, charts, descriptions of the offers etc - and top notch support of course ( <12 hour response would be a godsend).

Maybe I hope for too much though.

Me and few developers (from MovingLabs.com and TriGemSolutions.com) are working on a new Affiliate Network Solution, it aims not only for CPA Campaigns, but also other type of campaigns. We are building it in such way it can be custom adjusted per client needs for extra cost.

Currently it is in a development process and many features are already there.

CPA Networks are very saturated when it comes to the same campaigns, same work style of the network because of the same software they all use. Those same campaigns are flooded because they use Cross Publication which allows networks to share their offers with other networks and then you are able to see an offer being redirected with multiple link sets, that makes you wounder what is the source of that offer (the first network that runs it and publishes it in other networks), that fact of multiple same offers on multiple networks makes me wounder what uniqueness they have.

Not to mention most of these networks gather their revenue from incentive websites and they are mostly run CPA campaigns rather then other type of campaigns which can bring more profit, they do that not because they don't want, but because their system is unable to provide a proper per sale solution.

Our system is able to work in a very dynamic way which allows each merchant set a per lead costs and per sale costs, that means double opportunity for the publisher to earn more.

We are also developing something that no other network has (not that i have seen), we develop a Geo IP targeted ads that you can setup, and the ads will be displayed on your website per the IP visited. that makes more targeted Network Ads to the visitors location, you setup the ads of curse per main countries.

I agree that most of these networks have the same offers. If you can offer something different, you will be more successful.

Nice thing about CPA networks is that there can never be too many. Only question is if you will be able to show results and bring conversions. If so, chances are you will not lack clients.

Yea I believe the hardest part is getting the advertiser/merchants

But with mass marketing etc and keeping my commission percentages low this allow our affiliates to be paid more..

Thanks for everyones feedback and support.. As I am seriously considering this yet it is difficult to calculate all my costs =)
