I have a 1 year old site that's receiving 40K+ unique hits and 150K+ pageviews daily, but suddenly last Monday my traffic was slashed off to half. I checked for possible answers to questions I'm not sure of. I taught it was Activemeter that's redirecting my traffic so I switched to histats but still the same. It's weird because on my other two VPS, the speed was very slow too. I also upload files to Rapidshare and Easy-Share and I noticed that I'm having problems with it. All of them happened just last Monday. Do some of you guys experience it too? Like losing traffic rapidly with unknown reasons? I wonder whats happening, it's really a weird week.
We don't advertise on other sites, most of my traffic came from search engines like google. It's weird that when I tried searching a particular keyword on google, my site doesn't come out on the first page anymore unlike before. It's like my blog links aren't indexed anymore.. Really weird..
Maybe, it depends on the content of your site... try pressing the up button in the google search results.. and ask all your friend to do it.. this way, your site will come on the first page again
Haha, up button on google huh? I hope it works that way. Well it happened when I installed "Google Custom Search Engine". After 24 hours, my daily traffic was cut into half. I removed the Google CSE already but still the same problem, I think resubmitting the site on google will fix everything.. Don't you think?
Did you install any stats scripts to trace visitors . If yes, you can analytic the traffic to see why the traffic drops .

may be your competitors have a higher PR than you.... this will make his site go to the top of the search page before you...
But this won't happen overnight right? Everything happened rapidly, if it was a PR issue I think the traffic will decrease slowly. It's really weird..
Some of my links are still indexed on Google but they never show on first page anymore unlike before. Maybe thats the cause why my traffic went down..
