is there something like adsense trial code?

Dear All

I am developing a new site which is not yet indexed by any search engine. I want to submit only after the completion of the site. Meanwhile I want to try different placements of adsense code and see the look and feel of the site. So obviously I will be trying a lot of things and So google will count these as impressions which will be only from me!!!!

Is there a test adsense code I can place to test and then change it to my adsense code once I am satisfied with the placement etc?

I hope you got my point!

Use someone others pubID

 

I dont want to do that for sure! any other suggestion?

 

What about using a screen shot of the ad format you want and just paste the image into the position - that will really give you an idea as to how the site will look and how stuff will wrap around the ad.
Just a suggestion.

 

If you want to test placement Google has the banner images on their website that you could test with - see https://www.google.com/adsense/adformats

actually I have once or twice seen on various websites that you can replace the publisher code in the adsense code with the text

and genuine ads will be generated. In fact even in the sandbox tool at http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/adsense-sandbox you can do a rightclick on one of the ads and choose properties, the last part of the address (when you scroll through it) shows you

client=ca-test

instead of the usual

client=ca-pub-12345678901234567

So I guess that is your definitive answer!!

 

I remember now. Few days ago was thread talking about this test instead of real pub ID.

Why didn't you mention this in first post?

 

I just remembered .. and found some evidence to back up my theory! sometimes its better to find evidence before being flamed!

 

the "test" instead of pubid is a nice idea. But I hope it is safe.

 

Try sending google adsense an email and asking them if you can use it while you build your site - probably the safest way and you can be sure your account can be safe thereafterwards.

 

I wanted to say the same... There is no signs that this is your site or account, there is no pub ID.
