I have been using Akismet for years and have been so happy with it but lately I've noticed a huge increase in spam getting through and was wondering if there was something wrong with their plugin? I would get maybe one or two come through a day but in the past two weeks I've been getting about 900+ getting placed in the Pending folder. And I'm talking about on each blo I run, not all together. I've checked and apparently the akismet servers are running fine. Anyone else getting this problem?
This happens when your web server couldnt contact akismet server for verification due to heavy load. Happens once or twice in a month with me with powweb hosting. So, better to use image verification or math's calculation plugin to stop all spam at once.
