Is there money to be made in facebook applications?

I was thinking of making a Facebook application, but then I realized that it was hard cause so many of them had already been done.

Many people are making a lot of money from it even though some of the applications are pointless.

 

yes a lot of apps are stupid and annoying, but they still earn! Come to think of it, a lot of websites are stupid and annoying too.

 

Yeah, Super Wall is an excellent application for those who enjoy forwarding chain letters since that's pretty much the primary purpose these days.

 

they may be stupid and annoying... but you can see how many people they reach... meaning advertising exposure is huge... if you can pump out a stupid idea that a bunch of people will start using, adding to their profile, sharing with their friends, etc... you could see a big money opportunity.

 

I just use facebook as a social worldwide network.

I ve got on idea and thats why i need to learn how to create one, so thats my Summers aim i would of loved to have it up before summer though, imagine how much more traffic they get in summer.
Then again, this could be argued both ways, would they get more because people are off school or less because people are out with their mates in the sun?

well, since HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, I would assume that FBML would stand for Face Book Markup Language (course, you know what they say about assuming)
