Google and Alexa both are different identity, Google does not passes his results to Alexa, you need to identify what are the reasons why your traffic is low in both Google and Alexa.

Your Alexa rank, as far as I know is solely dependent on the amount of TRAFFIC your site gets. While your rank in SERPS is dependent on your site's content, backlinks..etc, basically your SEO work. I can see they can relate to each other in the case that a huge portion of your traffic comes through Google, so a drop in the SERPS would cause a big drop in traffic, thus, a big drop in Alexa. If that's the case; fix your SEO problem and your Alexa rank should follow automatically. Hope this helps. :)

Getting a lower Alexa Rank will give you nothing but bragging rights. I know a guy who bragged to me that he had a better Alexa Rank then me (Alexa Envy). To prove a point, I simply added the Alexa Toolbar to my Firefox.
That was about 90 days ago. My Alexa Rank went from 1.5 million to 329,792. If you look at the 90 day history, you can see the climb : http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/www.used-cars-fl.com
There was no increase in organic traffic at all, from any search engine.

Alexa rank is based on the amount of traffic.
When You loose SERP, you loose traffic and that makes your Alexa rank drop.
