    Hi,

I am considering to start a directory in which i would like to charge for regular listings [annual, permanent and other options].

Does a market exist for such a conecpt? I have seen some directories already doing it with quite a decent number of listings.

If a market exists, how much would be the buyer be interested to pay for
    1. annual listings
    2. featured listings on home page [limited to 20]
    3. featured listings on category pages [limited to 5/6] and
    4. permanent listings in category.

How much would the buyers pay for a PR5 and PR6 directory?

    Thanks for any inputs.

    Cheers

Many Directories charge for both featured and regular listings

For prices and comparisons if you search through this thread you will be able to gather prices etc
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=150381
You will find many PR5 & PR6 Directories which you can click on to check their prices

The market is bouyant and becoming more mature with continuous submittals

    Hope this helps you :)

I just raised the price of Premium (featured) links in my directory yesterday by $3.00 and exceeded my daily average of sales by 4 listings. In my opinion, web masters are realizing the value of better position when it comes to directories. I also believe the trend will continue for quite a while.

Of course, if your directory is good people will buy backlinks on your directory... definitely a market there.
