What you think are we heading for another "dot-com bubble" burst? Most of us are making money from adsense online -- these small businesses who use it might stop. Then the value of our sites will be gone. Is now the time to sell up!!?? Sell your sites at the peak -- or keep them, and they could be worthless. What you think? Are we safe?!?
With new domain zones at .me and .name some domains are loosing in price but it is too specific to the industry to give an exact answer...
You always should be looking to expand your business (never put all your eggs in one basket), regardless. BUT....I don't see Google Adwords/Adsense going away anytime soon. Out of curiosity, what makes you think businesses would stop using it?
I agree with Hagen. Google seems to be pretty smart at staying ahead of the curve. I think what we will see though is that PPC is going to turn into PPA which Adwords is already headed towards. This may mean less money for advertisers who make a good income off of Adsense. But, those who have quality traffic that will convert for businesses they are advertising for can really make a lot of money in a hurry.
no way. I've got insider information which tells me that an internet advertising revolution is about to hit here soon =) Internet advertising is still a baby and is nowhere near where it's about to grow. Just think of all the companies still spending billions of dollars on TV, radio, and offline advertising.. that haven't even ventured to concentrated internet efforts =)
The inside poop on this is: Newspapers are going bankrupt ( google this ) all over the country - why? because of the internet! Nothing to do with the recession. Hence - interent marking ( ads ) are up and are going to go MUCH higher SOON!
What would exactly burst? You referred to established companies going belly up and stocks plummeting. ...Not really in that mode anymore.
If you're reliant on Google to remain profitable then you're not a business, you're an unofficial employee of Google.
I wouldn't say that. There is definitely a lot of opportunity on the internet but it's not going to explode or anything, and ad revenues could definitely drop. Of course, if you're selling something this could improve your ROI but the industry as a whole is not going to be in a boom whilst the US is in a recession.
IMHO there is really no burst as there is no bubble. The Dot Coms are still reeling from the last Dot Com crash. The excesses are still being digested. The industry looks reasonably priced to me and the Dot Com companies are much more clear headed than what they had been previously. They do know that they need income and not just eyeballs and they do know they need a sustainable plan.
No its not a good time to sell. Instead, now its a good time to acquire more under valued website. As old saying reward must come with risk. So,i'll keep the site and develop it and sell it out during the economic is better.
There's also the classic (and probably overused) Warren Buffett quote: "Be fearful when other's are greedy and greedy when other's are fearful". Now is the time to build a real business.
