Hi, One of senior seo expert informed me that posting articles to good article directories like goarticles is now dead and Google treats as spam. He got so many samples of Goarticles to various website for unnatural link building notice from Google. My query is that really article posting dead after last update of Google?
I don't think so, while researching on this topic, I came across a blog which will be helpful for you too. Here's the link http://beginwebsites.com/article-directory-submission-and-seo/
Hi Vijay, Given link and blog post is older (2012). I am asking about present scenario. I also got Google penalty notice about unnatural link building. While asked to Google for providing sample links then it provided goarticle and thefreelibrary links. This issue confirmed statement of my senior seo expert.
It is not dead actually but the way we used to do it, is dead. Google says that do not unnecessary syndicate thin quality article to multiple article directories. If your article is Good enough to syndicate then post it on your own blog or website and give permission to others to publish that article on their website (with your permission) for their users with a message that original article was published on www.yourblog.com (link to your article on your blog). Even good article directories have stopped publishing already published articles. i.e. ezinearticles.com do not accept already published articles, they need only unique article, and do not allow link from body part unless it is required to link, though quality is still not a concern for them
I no longer use article directories, I was afraid it would count as spam. However, reading up on it in these forums it seems that a number of people still effectively use the article directories.
No article posting is not dead, all you have to change this technique to guest posting or blog posting. Contact with the blog owners under your niche that will accept guest posts. Write a quality post according to the blog owner's guideline and send it to him to publishing, this way you will get a good backlink from the article body text or author box.
Article posting isn't really dead, but the use of it has decreased a lot of the past few years. With all the duplicate content, keyword stuffing and other blackhat SEO techniques that are used across article directories google have openly said it will index your links from article directories but they wont have much in the way of weight when put against a natural blog post from website in the same niche.
yeah, Article directory is still alive but there is great change in the SEO techniques and if you want to stand in the current scenario then you should definitely change your own techniques. Google now a days count article weight not only on the content but also it emphasis on the writer too. If you want to stay in article market then you should write high quality of fresh and unique content of bigger length. Also you post it first on your own website which is more beneficiary and then you go for other websites. Many article writers put their article or blog url in their G profiles because Google count one thing from different perspectives. My point is: If Google is counting thing from different factors then you should also change your old techniques!!
I think article directories have been hard hit by Google and the benefits have been reduced quite a bit. I would put my time into guest posting, which should get you more relevant links of higher quality.
