Is there anyone has been banned from Chitika?
I want to know if Chitika bans publishers as Google.(without any warnings)
BTW,I always have some invalid clicks on my site.
    So will Chitika ban me?

Google usually does give warnings and will advise you on certain options if there's any risk. Unless, of course, people are being totally outright TOS ignorers ;p

For the most part, only if they have concluded you are a lost cause, then they don't waste time with you. But if your TOS violations are minor, say, things that skates the edge of the TOS, then they'll give you a warning. But they have little to no tolerance for invalid clicks, and this will usually get you booted out of Adsense without warning.

Regarding Chitika, I'm sure there have been people banned, but as Chitika is sitll a relatively untested and poorly performing (for the most part) network, not a lot of people care about getting banned from them. Also, I think Chitika has so few publishers that they're more liable to warn or just audit your invalid earnings instead of banning you. I.e. beggars can't be choosers and all that good stuff.

I know once Chitika banned a lot of publishers, around the beginning of this year or so. But recently Chitika has surely cooled down and there's much less news from Chitika... Also no news of anyone being banned by Chiitika, kaka :)

Yeah,I see.If lots of people are doing Chitika, auditing invalid earnings is a hard work ,so i guess there few people are doing it :)
BTW,sometimes the Chitika CPC is higher than Google ,I think:)

Definitely. That's how it is with all new networks. Look at YPN right now. They're giving away practically the whole store just to get the word out that they pay a lot. This is how you get publisherse -- uncut the old guy (in this case, Adsense) with higher payouts, spread the word, and get more people to sign up.

Google will not ban you unless you cheat them, the same with Chitika. If you don't cheat then you will not get banned.

That is what puzzled me a little. If you always get invalid clicks on your account then you will have to try and sort it out. The less you get the better. If you are self clicking them stop or no one will want to have you and also advertisers are not getting their money's worth.

I got banned by Chitika several months ago.

They sent me a very generic email saying that there were issues with my account. I tried to get more info from them but never received a reply.

The thing is, is that at that point in time all my traffic to the sites I had Chitika ads up on, were generating traffic throug PPC. So I find it hard to see where they thought I was cheating.

Needless to say...Chitika doesn't sit well with me.

    Hope you all have success!

Exactly how do you prevent invalid clicks? Obviously you don't click your own ads, but how do you stop others clicking them in a way that Google regards as fraudulent?

Sorry guys, this is not true. I was running Chitika on a high traffic site and getting lots of clicks... they banned me without any notification. I was not doing ANYTHING to cheat them.

Also, they did not inform me that I had been banned, the ads just kept running happily on my site... only after I emailed them asking about payout information did they inform me that my account had been closed. BTW, this is not an isolated incident. Not a good business practice.

If you think I'm cheating you, at least notify me so I can remove your ads from my site... I don't think that's an unfair request!

We actually worked with Shopping.com and developed our own creatives similar to Chitika. The results were TERRIBLE when we ran them through networks. We got ~0.02% CTR even from top networks.

I think with Cnet joined their network they feel comfortable with advertisers.
Also, there are people who really earn high with chitika. Like a guy at problogger.;)
