I always send them the report. If it helps them make windows better, then great!

I think the trained monkey at Microsoft was taught to just delete all error reports as they come in.

Imagine the load of reports they get on a daily basis. Allowing us to report errors is probably nothing more then a comforting gesture by Microsoft that is intended to make it appear Microsoft cares.

I never send those. Those reports probably go the same place the pneumatic tubes do in Lost. ;)

Yes, but very rare I get an error, and it's 3rd party software's fault

Most errors are the result of 3rd party software, not XP itself :\
I barely ever got error reports when I was on my old desktop that had XP :]

Whenever I get errors in IE, Visual Studio or SQL Server I usually report the error unless I am in a rush.

    DON'T SEND ERROR REPORTS!

Fixing your error is the last thing on the list that the error report checks. The main reason they have them is to check if you are running a legit version of Windows and other MS programs. I have a source inside MS who confirmed this to me and also you can read about it on anywhere on the web.

I never send out those annoying messages to Microsoft. It is very annoying to me and always press cancel anyway. Theres no reason to send them to them anyway. Any bug found always leads to two more bugs being found.

    That is bull crap!
You should send error reports whenever it fails. They don't use it for finding out who is running a legit copy.
They actually DO look into the reports, and use them as input for a next service pack or version of the product (not for immediate fixes).

I never do it.....and I hate it when the computer downloads a useless update that seems to slow the system down.
